Skopje Day tour – from Prishtina
The capital of Norther Macedonia is increasingly a popular tour destination due to many attractions and interests. It is not far away from Prishtina at all, and it’s easily connected. It’s becoming a wanted tour from our guests who are spending some days in Prishtina and want to explore more extensively.
We depart from Prishtina to Skopje by 9 AM via highway, which takes an hour and a half of comfortable drive. Once we arrive in Skopje, we meet our local guide and start an walking tour to start falling in love with this beautiful and historic town.
The walk takes us to the main landmarks of Skopje, stone bridge, Warrior on horse, Mother Teresa Memorial House, the bazaar, if you want to shop any souvenir as well as we go through many other attractions with local historic, cultural and social significance. Afternoon, once we are done with a delicious lunch, we go to see stunning Matka canyon. Matka is one of the most popular outdoor destinations for the local people in Skopje. It is located around 15km on the west from the city, stretching roughly on 5,000 hectares.
It is a home of more than 70 species of small butterflies and several medieval monasteries. The Matka Lake within the Matka Canyon is the oldest artificial lake in the country. There we’ll experience a take the boat trip and explore one of the many caves inside the canyon. When we finish the boat ride, we start the way back to prishtina.

Kosovo – Macedonia Multi-days tour

Day 1. Arrival in Prishtina – Airport pick up & welcome dinner.
Your adventure begins once you land at Prishtina airport where our representative will be waiting for you and to transfer you to the hotel. If you arrive early, we suggest you to experience the best of town. By evening, we meet once again for a welcome meeting and dinner at 7 pm. We’ll be collecting your insurance details and provide next kin of information at this meeting, so please bring it with you. If you can’t arrange a flight that will arrive in time for the meeting, you may wish to arrive a day early so you’re able to attend.
Day 2. Prishtine, Mitrovica, Prekaz, Peja.
The tour begins with an interesting outline of ancient historic, cultural, religious, natural and Archaeological exploration. We start the day by visiting the Gracanica Monastery (UNESCO Protected heritage), Marble Cave of Gadime (natural mystery), Ancient Ulpiana (one of top Roman town , 2nd century A.C). We come back to the town, have lunch and do a city tour, highlighting the best of the new and old town such as: Bazaar Mosque (the oldest Mosque in Kosovo), clock tower, ethnographic museum (300 years old Ottoman house), Yugoslavian Obelisk of Brotherhood, New Born, Heroinat Memorial, National Library and St. Teresa Cathedral. From Prishtina we head to Mitrovica city. We’ll deliver an interesting sightseeing tour, where we visit the famous bridge over the Iber river, which divides the town, the mineral museum to introduce the wealth of under-earth in Kosovo. On the way to Mitrovica we get the chance to see Gazimestan (monumental tower – commemorating the battle of Kosovo field, 1389) and Sulltan Murad Mausoleum.When in Mitrovica, we also go to Prekaz, historic village to visit the memorial complex of Jashari Family due the glorious history, national dignity and sacrifice for freecom. After Prekaz, we move towards Peja, for overnight.
Day 3. Peja – Deqan – Gjakova – Prizren
We start the day with a brief walk in Peja to get to see the main landmarks: city bazaar, Orthodox Patriarchate of Peja, ethnographic museum, waterfall of white Drini and move to Gjakova. On the way, we stop to visit Albanian towers (Kulla) in Isniq / Deqan, representing Albanian Authentic architecture, then, we visit the Monastery of Deqan Visoki, another respected UNESCO Heritage. After Deqan, we keep driving south to Gjakove, a lovely town, famous for it’s cultural preservation: Characteristic Old Bazaar of Gjakova, Hadum Mosque, Sheh Emini Tekke. Once done with Gjakove tour we reach Prizren by evening. Overnight in Prizren.
Day 4. Prizren and surrounding
After breakfast we go for a walking tour which encompasses the main attractions which represent the pride of Prizren. The city tour to takes us to see the Albanian League of Prizren, Gazi Mehmet Pasha mosque, Grand Hamam, Tekke Helvetie, Orthodox Church of Lady Leviss , Catholic church Lady Helper, St. Gorge church, Sofi Sinan Pasha mosque, stone bridge and enjoy picturesque houses in the old town. Since we have a full day in Prizren, we also don’t miss the chance to see Mirusha Waterfalls and finally back to Prizren, for overnight. Optional: Wine tasting at Stone Castle.
Day 5. Prizren – Skopje
When we depart from Prizren to Skopje we’ll have a drive through spectacular landscape of Sharri mountains. Once we arrive in Skopje, we reach the hotel to drop our luggage, meet our local guide and have a walking tour to start feeling in love with this beautiful, historic town. The walk takes us to the main landmarks of Skopje, such as the bazaar, stone bridge, Warrior on horse, city center and many other attractions that local guide will explain to us in a genuine way.

Cable car to Millennium Cross. It’s a cross 66-metres in height placed on the top of the Vodno Mountain, in memory of 2,000 years of Christianity in Macedonia and the world.
Day 6. Skopje – Matka Canyon – Ohrid.
Matka is one of the most popular outdoor destinations for the local people in Skopje. Canyon is 15km on the west from the city, covering roughly 5,000 hectares. It is a home of more than 70 species of small butterflies and several medieval monasteries. That’s where we’ll experience an exiting boat trip and explore one of the many caves inside the canyon. After Matka, we drive down to Ohrid lake for evening and overnight. The evening it’s free and there’s a lot of activities you can enjoy, from siting in a pretty cafe next to the lake, up to renting a bike or an e-scooter to enjoy some peaceful serenity around the lake.
Day 7. Ohrid – Bitola – Struga.
Ohrid – it’s a kind of reason to visit Macedonia. The town is located on the shores of Lake Ohrid and it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site. The best part of it, is the wonderful mix of natural beauty and historical monuments that makes you adore your time here. Ohrid is notable for once having had 365 churches, one for each day of the year and was referred to as: ‘Jerusalem of the Balkans’, even though only 70 of them are already preserved. The city is rich in picturesque houses and monuments and the professional local guide will make you sure to get to experience the best of this pearl. Afternoon, once we’re done with lunch, we visit Bitola. It is the second-largest and also one of the oldest cities in North Macedonia, famous for its historic, cultural and political relevance. During the Ottoman Empire, It was named as Manastir, known for its many monasteries. We walk through the famous city center Shirok Sokak, bezistan of the town and the impressive archaeological site of Heraclea Lyncestis (dating from 4th century BC). Coming back to the shore of Ohrid lake overnight in the stunning town of Struga.
Day 8. Struga – Mavrovo National Park – Prishtina
We have a breakfast and a quick walk in beautiful town of Struga. On the way to Mavrovo, we will visit the town of Mavrova and picturesque mountain villages. We’ll drive in the mountain area with beautiful views of canyons, rivers and variety of plants.
Here you will see Sharko cave, an underground beauty which has beautiful stalactite, stalagmite and corals and other cave ornaments that create a picture of untouched beauty. We drive along Mavrovo Lake and the canyon of the river Radika to the biggest monastery in Macedonia, St. Jovan Bigorski, 2km from Rostushe village and Waterfall Duff. Have a traditional lunch and start driving norther to Prishtina, to end the tour and overnight.
